Angelina Jolie has once again come forth with another tremendous story about allowing her children the ability to choose how they want to look, and who they choose to be. Her most recent circumstance was in regards to her oldest biological daughter, Shiloh, and her strong willingness to chop off her luscious locks. “It’s not my choice.” says the dark-haired saint “I have a very strong-willed four-year-old girl, who tells me what she wants to wear and I let her be who she is. I think people think kids should be a certain way, but I feel they should wear what they feel like wearing and they should express themselves. Shiloh cried one night and said, ‘Please cut my hair off. I don’t want to have long hair.’ I’m not going to leave it long because somebody thinks I should.”

Amazing. These are the moment that her children will reminisce on as they start to become adults, and they will always hold their mother in high regard for allowing them to always express themselves individually, and not conform to a society’s perception of how they should look, dress, and more importantly, who they should be.
